Roof Inspection

A roof inspection is a preventative maintenance job that is easy to overlook. Don’t! Inspect your roof twice a year, in the spring and the fall, and fix any problems you find.
When inspecting your roof, check to make sure the shingles, flashing, and other features are in good shape. Binoculars might be helpful. Here’s what to look for:
Cracked caulk or rust spots on flashing
Shingles that are buckling, curling, or blistering
Missing or broken shingles
Cracked or worn rubber boots around vent pipes
Missing or damaged chimney cap
Masses of moss and lichen, which could signal the roof is decaying underneath
If you are concerned about doing this yourself, WF Schmidt Construction Company can help. Give us a call at
